Primary education

Free primary education is provided in the year before compulsory schooling begins for all children aged 6. The purpose of primary education is to promote and support a child's growth, development and learning. Pyhäjoki Municipality organises primary education based on the municipality's core curriculum for primary education.

How primary education is implemented

Registration for primary education is in the spring. More information is available in the weekly Kuulumiset newspaper and on the Pyhäjoki website.

A child of primary education age is entitled to supplementary early childhood education and care. A separate application for this must be made via the Daisy system.

During the 2025-2026 school year, primary education will be organised in Saaren koulu.
