Building supervision

The building supervision authority carries out the regulatory tasks required by law and performed by the municipality in accordance with the Land Use and Building Act.

Building supervision is tasked among other things with processing various building permits and measures, receiving and conveying information concerning building to various authorities, overseeing compliance with plans and oversight of the built environment.

Building supervision processes building permits, advises and oversees building activity, issues opinions on building permits and individual exemptions, provides information with regard to building and residential unit data for the Population Information System and prepares building completion certificates.

A good construction outcome is in the common interest of developers, designers, contractors, the authorities, property owners and users.
