Environment protection

The statutory duties of Pyhäjoki Municipality include environmental protection authority duties, environmental permits and notifications, and land extraction and landscape permits. Other duties include the protection of natural monuments, general monitoring of the state of the environment, the duties assigned to the municipality under the Water Act and general supervision of waste management. 

Pyhäjoki Technical committee is Pyhäjoki Municipality’s environmental protection authority. The Committee has delegated extensive powers to the environment secretary. In environmental matters, appeals against environmental permit decisions made by the officeholder are filed directly with the Administrative Court. 

Pyhäjoki Technical committee approved the environmental permit fees and supervision fees and the land extraction fees that entered into force at the beginning of 2015.
